I was previously trained in freelance writing, and I’m not unfamiliar with Kevin’s concept of calculating hourly rates. It’s not my personal favorite way of calculating prices, though.
After getting some marketing training I’ve learned that what something is worth is not how much time you spend on it, but how much the customer is willing to pay for it. So the real key is finding the right client, not just painting better.
Of course, Kevin does mention this when he talks about where you live and the income bracket of your neighborhood, but I think he could probably touch on it more.
